June 4th ....Richie Lee & the Fabulous 50's
Just imagine Buddy Holly's classic look and sound right before your eyes. Throw in some Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis and soon you will find yourself at the front of the stage, singing along to the straight-up Rock & Roll that drives the heart of the Midwest. Richie Lee has been selected to receive the new Spirit Award from the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of fame this coming fall for his contibutions in keeping the great rock and roll memories alive.
June 11th.... 35 South
35 South, based in Des Moines, was formed to establish a strong “Southern Rock/Texas Blues” presence in the central Iowa area. Lead singer BoCletus was raised in the Carolinas and brings some good ole’ red neck home cooked vocals that’ll make you think Mr. Van Zant himself jumped outa the grave. All five members are seasoned musicians who have honed their chops in various rock and blues acts.
June 18th .... Gimmik
Forty hours a week Gimmik is a group of blue collar, working class heroes with families and bills to pay. Perhaps this explains their appeal. When you punch your card at the end of the day, a cold bottle of brew in your hand or a backyard barbeque combined with Gimikk somehow just feels right. Soon you will find yourself at the front of the stage, singing along to the straight-up Rock & Roll that drives the heart of the Midwest.
June 25th....Midwestern Remedy
Formed some seven years ago by guitarist James Nicholson and drummer Kirk Haage, Midwestern Remedy has grown to become one of Central Iowa's hardest-working blue collar bands. Midwestern Remedy continues to offer its earnest blend of solid classic rock and the insightful, poetic songwriting of vocalist and guitarist Aaron Winters. If you like Creedence Clearwater Revival and the Allman Brothers, you've got to come give this band a listen..
July 2nd.... SPAM
This all girl band is one of Des Moines best kept secrets. They play mostly 50 & 60’s music and will leave you wanting more. A must see band.
July 9th.... The Melody Profitt Band
They are a blues-rock-raggae-funk band. Playing all over the Des Moines area. The soultry sounds of Melodie Proffitt on lead vocals, Mike Proffitt on the bass, Tom Breneman on drums and Doug T. on lead guitar! Our band is an eclectic mix of blues, rock, reggae, funk, and some of the newer stuff on the charts. We like to keep you guessing on what we will do next, it's part of our on stage fun!!
July 16th.... Flipside
Flipside is a professionally seasoned variety band from Iowa.
The band covers all genre's of musical expression.
You are sure to revisit some memories.
As well as have fun making new ones.
Join Flipside for the party!
July 23rd.... Matt Woods & the Thunderbolts
Matt Woods and the Thunderbolts has become known for its on-stage charisma—particularly Woods' wild stage antics—and its penchant for propelling any crowd to its feet. You want to hear some down-home, juke house blues, look no further. From the delta to the hills the Thunderbolts thumping rhythm and stomping slide workouts will remind you what real party music is meant to be.
July 30th....Brother Trucker
Des Moines rock band, Brother Trucker, is led by singer/songwriter Andy Fleming, whose songs pay homage to the underpaid, the under-loved, the unemployed and the disconnected. Fleming's vocals and rhythm guitar are accompanied by Mike Fitzpatrick on lead, Matt Winegardner on drums and Lyle Kevin Hogue on bass. The band's sound is appropriately and unapologetically Iowan, Fleming and Fitzpatrick said, mixing blues, country and "meat-and-potatoes rock," to use Fleming's words.
Thank you!
