Some chalkware prizes won at various games. Don't you wish you had one now?
The Horse statues were by far the most popular by both young and old.
SHOOT OUT THE STAR - Remember?
Shoot Out all of the Red Star with the BB machine gun and win a Big Plush Stuffed Animal. 100 Shots for a Quarter! This was very difficult but still possible to win with 100 BB's. We would occasionally fill the machine gun full with 107 BB's and the number of winners would triple and then so would the number of players.
..................1949 Skeeball Alleys
The Skeeball Alleys - One of the most popular games ever for young and old. The long time players soon learned if they banked the ball off the side, they could land it in the 30 point ring fairly easy.
...................1975 Skeeball Alleys
You received 9 balls to roll each play and only needed a score of 250 to get a "ticket". People would save their tickets up all summer and then redeem them for lots of prizes when the summer was nearly over.

The Shooting Gallery - The oldest "game" in the park. Originally built in the 1920's The Shooting Gallery survived fire and flood and was operational all the way through the season in 1978. The Gallery featured moving steel targets that you fired at with 22 caliber rifles. Hitting a small quarter size hole in the uppermost round steel target would set off a buzzer to let everyone know what a marksman you were. The live ammunition was a 22 cal short with a lead bullet. The rifles were not chained to the counter until 1973 and we never had a mishap or accident the entire 50 plus years of operation. View a shooting gallery clip below:
